Description
These male Broad-Tailed Hummingbirds were flying around in the spring trying to impress a female nearby. They were shy and avoided me at first, but after standing there for a long time, they got used to me and started trying to impress the female again. I spent over two hours photographing these amazing humming birds.
As I was taking a picture of one of the humming birds on a branch, the other quickly flew up and fluttered in front of the other for a few seconds and flew off again. I felt lucky to have clicked my shutter at that moment to capture this rare shot. Unfortunately, it was the last image on my flash card so I was only able to capture this single image before my camera said it was out of memory. I've spent many hours photographing humming birds after this, but have never had an opportunity for this type of shot again.
