Description
This cicada was making a loud buzzing noise and actually allowed me to get close enough for a picture. Normally they fly away before I could get close enough. You can see the tymbals on the underside of the abdomen which it vibrates to make the loud buzzing sound. I have some video of this cicada buzzing as well.
This image was taken in the eastern plains east of Kersey Colorado.
